always feel out of place when people start talking about bourbon. My father & grandfather drank scotch (whisky in rest of world). I know quite few single malts & the common blends, but little on Irish whisky & nothing on bourbon. I’ve tried bourbon, it’s not my thing, I’ve dabbled with Irish whisky & will try again. But at current, Scotch whisky is my deal. I prefer single malt neat (no ice/water), though oddly like blends with both.

Last night was the 2nd night of a cocktail/sporting event.  Sadly the wine wasn’t up to the first night’s standard (Night 1: 2005 Tuscan CabSauv, Night 2: 2009 French CabSauv).  So as the wine was too young, & tasted like dry grape juice; I switched to scotch(blend) & water.

As the night went on, got more scotch logged & switched to Sierra Nevada as event migrated to bar. Much prefer to drink wine all night. Less potent, plus if it’s old/good enough there’s no morning pain. Plus it limits me from posting random musings afterward.
