I have a big doubles & singles hardball squash tournament this weekend, with a similar skill set as this video. I’ve been getting in the mental & physical full-on competitive state for the past 36 hours & have been barely able to focus on anything else.

I may end up buying their entire world surplus on this racquet. I’ve been through 3 of them, & have just bought another 2. So far I’ve been unable to find a good replacement for it. I find singles racquets break too quickly in hardball doubles. (I originally started playing with them when I saw John White using them, if they can take his force - 172MPH, they’ll stand up to just about anything)
The Dunlop aerogel rush squash racquet was designed by Dunlop specially for doubles squash. The aerogel construction combined with m-fil technology provides stiffness and a hitting zone with a softer feel. The result is a perfect balance between control and power. ). Headsize: 525cm. Length: 27 . Weight strung: 167g/(5.9Oz). Composition/construction: m-fil aerogel. String pattern(mains x crosses): 16 x 19. Recommended string tension: 20-30lbs. Balance: extra head-light.  High-res

My athletic work cut out for me…

I was requested to play in a club singles squash tournament. I normally play B or super B, but this year it’s A or C. So I’m playing up a level, at least I’ll get a good workout & improve my skill set. I won my first match by default, my next match is against the national champion, & the match after that is against junior who will be playing for an Iv(y) league next year.

Then I signed up for the member/guest doubles squash tournament, at the same club. In doubles I’m a super B player. Most of the A players are competing, in the past I’ve played with my cousin who is a professional player. This year I have a great partner, but as I’ve already seen the field it will be a tough battle.

Coconut water, ibuprofen, & my gym workouts will be key. Endurance is what wins these matches.

I use Iv(y) as it initially referred the IV (4) schools in their league. Not the Ivy on the building, as most people believe.

Fairly Good Sporting Day

I did better than expected today:

  • 20 runs in 2 overs; till I was run out
  • won 3-0 in squash; played another 2 games & won those as well

Whereas teammates didn’t fair so well:

  • 40 stitches in the forehead; from a deflected fielded ball
  • Split index finger + bent back thumb = blood & inflated thumb
  • Caught a line drive into his back; while trying to avoid the ball = large welt
